# CoresRent > CoresRent lets people own a share of real GPU servers (8× NVIDIA L40S "sleds"), installed and rented in two US data centers under independent custodians, and earn a share of the rent AI companies pay to use them. Shares are bought and managed in the CoresRent dashboard. Usage is read from sealed meters at the rack, signed every hour by the custodian and published; net rent is credited to owners daily in USDC. Key facts: - Fleet: 64 NVIDIA L40S GPUs in 8 sleds, four per site in two US data centers: IAD-4 Ashburn and DFW-2 Dallas. More machines are added over time. - Buying in: deposit USDC to your dashboard balance and buy shares at the current price; they earn from the next daily settlement. Shares are recorded against your wallet and can't be transferred. - Ways in: one sled (from 100 USDC), a whole rack (from 500 USDC), or the pool (from 50 USDC). - Where rent goes: of gross rent, power 14%, data center space 9%, maintenance reserve 6%, insurance 3%, CoresRent fee 8%; 60% is paid to owners. - Metering: a sealed meter reads power and GPU time every 60 seconds; the custodian signs an hourly record (EIP-712) and posts the hour's Merkle root to the Ledger contract. - Payouts: rent settled daily at 00:00 UTC to your dashboard balance in USDC, withdrawable any time; shares are sold back monthly with 30 days' notice, 0.5% fee paid into the pool. - Risk: capital at risk; rent depends on demand and can fall to zero while a machine sits idle. Not investment advice. - Operator: CoresRent Labs Ltd. (England and Wales); machines held by CR Machines SPV I Ltd. (Jersey). ## Pages - [Home](https://cores.rent/): what CoresRent is, how metering works, where each dollar of rent goes, FAQ ## Docs - [Overview](https://cores.rent/docs): CoresRent lets you own part of real GPUs in named data centers and earn your share of the rent AI companies pay for them. These docs explain how it works, what you own, and how to check every number yourself. - [How it works](https://cores.rent/docs/how-it-works): The full path of a dollar: from your wallet to a machine in a rack, through a day of metered rent, and back to your wallet as USDC. - [What you own](https://cores.rent/docs/what-you-own): A CoresRent share is a claim on real machines and the rent they earn. Here is the chain from your wallet to the hardware, and what a share does and does not give you. - [How metering works](https://cores.rent/docs/metering): Rent is only as honest as the meter. This page explains what is measured on each sled, how often, who signs it, and how a reading gets from a GPU to the public ledger. - [Where the rent goes](https://cores.rent/docs/fees): Every dollar of rent is split the same way before anything reaches holders. This page shows the split, the one fee CoresRent takes, and a full day on one sled. - [Depositing and redeeming](https://cores.rent/docs/deposit-redeem): How money goes in, when it starts earning, how rent reaches your balance, and how to get your capital back through the monthly redemption window at NAV. - [What can go wrong](https://cores.rent/docs/risks): Owning GPUs can lose money. These are the ways it can go wrong, what each would do to your rent or your capital, and what limits the damage. - [Reading a record](https://cores.rent/docs/reading-a-record): Every machine publishes one signed record per hour. This page walks through one of them field by field, so you can read a record without writing code. - [Verifying a record](https://cores.rent/docs/verifying-a-record): You do not have to trust our dashboard. With a record, its proof and the contracts on Ethereum, anyone can check that an hour happened the way it says. - [The record format](https://cores.rent/docs/record-format): The exact shape of a meter record: the EIP-712 domain and types, the rules for each field, how records chain together, and how an hour of records becomes one root on the Ledger. - [Run the verifier locally](https://cores.rent/docs/verifier): @coresrent/verify is an open-source command-line tool that runs every ledger check against your own Ethereum connection. It needs Node 20 or later and no account. - [Chain and addresses](https://cores.rent/docs/addresses): Every CoresRent contract lives on Ethereum mainnet. These are the only addresses we use. Check them here before you approve or send anything. - [The contracts](https://cores.rent/docs/contracts): Four contracts do the work: Subscription, Distributor, Ledger and Registry. What each one holds, who can call what, and the events you can watch. - [The audit](https://cores.rent/docs/audit): The contracts and the custodian signing service were reviewed by CD Security in August 2026. What was in scope, what was found, and what an audit does not cover. - [Disclosures](https://cores.rent/docs/disclosures): The plain facts about the legal position: who operates CoresRent, who owns the machines, and what a share is not.
